Shelley Stevens was born in San Francisco. It’s amazing she is still alive. Raised by wolves in a small cave outside Tumwater, Washington, she learned quickly to trust no one and howl at the moon.
She survived those feral times and moved to Los Angeles, which she quickly discovered was identical to her previous experiences in the wild. She worked in television, film and theater as the ubiquitous personal assistant, first assistant director and stage manager respectively.
She’s been painting with paper for years. Her art is usually described as something people “…have never seen before.” Other words used are: tactile, dense, and layered.
And people always want to touch it because they are not quite sure what the medium is.
Shelley’s art is an elixir that quiets her mind and infuses her spirit.
